Why ‘A Metaverse Manifesto’ is now called ‘Technormal’…

Oh hey. I didn’t see. you there. Welcome to Technormal.

Why did my “Metaverse Manifesto” blog become “Technormal”?

Ch-ch-ch-changes. Like everyone else, there have been a LOT of changes in my world, post-Covid. As most of you know, I left Meta last fall after nearly 8 (great) years. I am bootstrapping a web3 business in the geolocation + AI space with 3 of my favorite humans. The startup is called Loud Labs, and I promise to share the Loud pitch deck with you guys once we finish some revisions.

But the biggest news?

My new blog AND consultancy. I build custom AI tools + do 1:1 education with NON-TECH-INDUSTRY leaders.

How Technormal customizes ChatGPT for non-tech leaders + teams:

My 1:1 coaching and senior team workshops are all about fast, hands on education and small workshops. Preferably in person (I’m old-school like that). I do fast-paced hands-on-laptops ChatGPT workshops. Together, we build customized AI tools, prompts, bots, and plugins that use your industry, financials, data, and competitors. Our customized tools sit on OpenAI’s language model and ChatGPT product, but built just for you.

This is not theoretical. I’m not going to talk about web3 and AI. We’re ideally in the same room as a team, firing up laptops and rolling up sleeves to learn through doing. I won’t just build stuff for you — YOU have to actually use the tools yourself as we learn the fundamentals. I will teach you to fish (but I’m also a prize-winning fisherwoman myself).

The goal of these custom ChatGPT implementations is not replacement of living, breathing humans. I believe that the humans ARE your business — the most important part, actually. Instead, we identify your own daily drudgery — those repetitive tasks, those time-sucks, that busy work. By the time we’re done, it will be as if you hired a temp or intern that can legally work 24/7 just for you. For free. Let’s ‘hire’ ChatGPT for that low-level work. This frees you all up to be strategic, to plan, to brainstorm, to think creatively at a higher level. All the stuff that you know is crucial but you never get around to because you’re working for inbox zero.

Go ahead and set up time with me here.

So THAT is why my Metaverse Manifesto blog is now Technormal. It’s my new creative focus, my priority and (not to be cheesy) my mission. I promise I’ll still rant and rave about “The Metaverse” as a place you go in VR with your legless cartoon avatar. I have a lot of ranting and raving to do, believe me.

With Technormal, I’m on a mission to democratize new technology. What does that even mean, you ask? The metaverse frenzy is/was the perfect example. The vision of the metaverse is crystal-clear in the brains of Zuck, Matthew Ball, etc… all the way down to little old me. But you know what? It doesn’t matter if we cannot communicate this value to the rest of the world. Tech failed to show a clear metaverse use case for the mass market.

The Technormal blog attempts to bridge that divide between the tech industry and smart, successful, non-technical people and communities. I’m popping the tech (and media) bubble, distributing these new ideas and tools to NORMAL people like me. Somewhere along the way social media and tech companies forgot to include the rest of humanity in their conversations.

Technormal is my small effort to hold the new-tech door open for everyone else like ME: We are real, normal, intelligent, working (or retired!), digitally-savvy people. We will NOT be spoken down to, infantilized, or treated like children. We also don’t want developer-speak from software engineers. Without us, there IS no internet. We deserve the best of this new technology, explained in simple, hands-on ways. That’s Technormal.

I’m asking my Metaverse Manifesto readers to stay with me. I promise no bullshit, fear-mongering, or wide-eyed idealism. I’m going to get it wrong sometimes — and these are my opinions. But I will do my best to be straightforward, clear, and a littly snarky sometimes.

That’s a whole lot of information right there. Please stay subscribed, SHARE this blog with others like us. I will NEVER pressure anyone on the consulting, but please feel free to just connect with me to talk out your situation. No pressure, ever. I’m all about the long-term here. Feel free to set up time for us to talk 1:1.

And please subscribe to my NEW blog/newsletter on LinkedIn here.

Stay patient, guys. We’ll tackle this together.

In case you don’t read. My blog as a picture.
