Life opens out when we believe we can create the transformation

Yes you can!

Healing is possible. Don’t ever let anyone tell you it isn’t.

It isn’t easy, but it can be easier than you imagine.

Drugs don’t help, whether they are prescribed or you ‘self medicate’. Well, they can take the edge off the anxiety, but they don’t help you change your life; to change your life you have to change your beliefs (this is not strictly true, if your system has become adapted to constant stress and anxiety, the right drugs can have a massive effect and really help you feel different; but they can only change your brain chemistry. If the chemistry is the problem, they help with that a great deal — they can’t change your beliefs though).

If you believe you can’t get better, or that nothing will change, you are totally stuck there.

Once you believe that change is possible and that you have the potential to heal, those things become a genuine possiblity for you.

So, yes you can heal from abuse

Yes you can move from surviving to thriving

Yes you can have a happy fulfilling life

Yes you can move out of the horrible terrifying place caused by reliving abuse in flashbacks

It is all possible.

But unfortunately, the hippies are right, you don’t just have to want to make those changes, you have to believe you can make them.

Wanting won’t do it, but there are now plenty of people working with survivors helping you all to transform your lives and create those changes in your own lives. You do not have to be defined by your symptoms and you do not have to remain a victim of the people who hurt you.

It might not be easy to believe that when you’ve been told a million times by yourself and others that the change can’t happen — but it totally can
