Books or Bust: Day 10 (Yep, Still Reading Neil Gaiman)

I look a little angry maybe in this picture? It’s not that I’m not enjoying the book. It’s quite good.

Title: American Gods
Author: Neil Gaiman
Progress Report: Page 192/588

I still have almost two hours before bedtime so I’ll be making a bit more progress before the day is out, but if I wait until then to post something, I probably won’t post anything at all.

The great thing about house-sitting is that the people who hire me generally have way better outdoor spaces at their homes than I have at mine. The current location has a fenced yard with a porch and a swing.

I’ve been spending my mornings, lunches, and after-work hours outside with the dogs instead of inside feeling like I should do chores or be somehow more productive with my time. There is a freedom in this, and it allows me to enjoy my reading more than I might at home. Also, at home, I’m much more likely to binge Netflix with the Roku and fall asleep on the couch, covered in Doritos crumbs.

All of this is unrelated to the reading except to say that I actually am reading, which I quite like. Gaiman’s writing is compelling, and the narrative continues to twist and turn. I’m interested in seeing where it goes next.

And so I leave you that I may continue with American Gods. The rest of the reading remains where it was whenever I last covered it. I’m finding focus in this one book and so here I will carry on.
