50 Years After the Voting Rights Act, We Still Have Work to Do
Pres. Obama (Archives)

Thank you, Mr. President, for articulating this issue so elegantly. The best way we can honor the brave men and women who struggled and suffered to ensure that all people can exercise their rights, is to continue their work.

There is still work to do. I am proud of the work being done in Iowa to protect this right at the core of the democratic process. We must continue our efforts in every state and every territory to restore the rights of the disenfranchised.
