I have just recently become aware that those with type 1 get better education than type 2s on how time of day affects glucose metabolism. It makes sense that you would know this, since your moment-to-moment stakes are higher. On the other hand, I think it’s an enormous missed opportunity that type 2s are not equally informed. Knowledge of how glucose metabolism and/or insulin sensitivity decline over the course of the day is a major component of my own still-evolving self-experimentation and self care. It goes a long way toward conforming satiety and hunger to my actual nutritional needs, and stills the noisy clamor of cravings that can equally signal high or low blood glucose.
