Instagram for Business
A few days ago Instagram announced that it would be rolling out business profiles globally. What does this mean? Brands and small businesses who thrive on Instagram will be able to give users contact options that were not available before. This in turn will close the degree of separation for all stakeholders and move Facebook/Instagram once step closer towards a walled garden. In addition, business pages will allow you to see best performing posts and convert them into promoted spots with ease.
It doesn’t take a genius to know this new functionality will come at the expense of organic reach. Similar to how Facebook rolled out business pages for Facebook, the initial hype will quickly become overshadowed by the lack of organic reach. So if you have not met your KPIs for Instagram, I say hold off and observe the accounts that convert to business pages immediately. If you migrate last, you may just achieve more.
