Remembering Prisoners who have Passed

The MDOC is sad to report there have been a total of 158 deaths of prisoners who had tested positive for COVID-19.

On February 13, the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Parnall Correctional Facility.

On January 29, the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Women’s Huron Valley Correctional Facility.

On January 27, the department reported the death of two prisoners who had originally been housed at Saginaw Correctional Facility and Macomb Correctional Facility.

On January 26, the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at St. Louis Correctional Facility.

On January 26, the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Macomb Correctional Facility.

On January 24, the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Richard A. Handlon Correctional Facility.

On January 2, the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Lakeland Correctional Facility.

On January 1, the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Richard A. Handlon Correctional Facility.

The following prisoner deaths were reported in 2021

On December 22, the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Duane Waters Health Center.

On December 17, the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Charles E. Egeler Reception & Guidance Center.

On December 15, the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Charles E. Egeler Reception & Guidance Center.

On December 1, the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Charles E. Egeler Reception & Guidance Center.

On November 12, the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at G. Robert Cotton Correctional Facility.

On November 9, the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at G. Robert Cotton Correctional Facility.

On July 28, the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Kinross Correctional Facility.

On July 23, the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Charles Egeler Reception and Guidance Center.

On June 03, the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Saginaw Correctional Facility.

On April 21, the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Macomb Correctional Facility.

On April 13, the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Charles Egeler Reception and Guidance Center.

On April 6, the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Charles Egeler Reception and Guidance Center.

On March 11, the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Duane Waters Health Center.

On Feb. 16 the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Cooper Street Correctional Facility.

On Feb. 10, the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Oaks Correctional Facility.

On Feb. 4, the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Saginaw Correctional Facility.

On Feb. 2, the department reported the deaths of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Thumb Correctional Facility.

On Feb. 1, the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Saginaw Correctional Facility.

On Jan. 26 the department reported the deaths of two prisoners who had both originally been housed at Saginaw Correctional Facility.

On Jan. 25 the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Saginaw Correctional Facility.

On Jan. 22 the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Charles Egeler Reception and Guidance Center.

On Jan. 21 the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Chippewa Correctional Facility.

On Jan. 19 the department reported the deaths of two prisoners, one who had originally been housed Michigan Reformatory and one who had originally been housed at Chippewa Correctional Facility.

On Jan. 14 the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Chippewa Correctional Facility.

On Jan. 13 the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Saginaw Correctional Facility.

On Jan. 11 the department reported the death of two prisoners. The first had originally been housed at Saginaw Correctional Facility and the second at St. Louis Correctional Facility.

On Jan. 5 the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Oaks Correctional Facility.

On Jan 4, the department reported the deaths of two prisoners who had originally been housed at Saginaw Correctional Facility. The department also reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Chippewa Correctional Facility.

The following prisoner deaths were reported in 2020

On Dec. 29th the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Newberry Correctional Facility.

On Dec. 28, the department reported the deaths of two prisoners who were both originally housed at Cooper Street Correctional Facility, as well as the death of prisoner who had originally been housed at Gus Harrison Correctional Facility and the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Thumb Correctional Facility. The department also reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Kinross Correctional Facility, as well as the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Carson City Correctional Facility and the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at St. Louis Correctional Facility.

On Dec. 22, the department reported the deaht of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Earnest C. Brooks Correctional Facility.

Prior to that, the deaths of two prisoners was reported on Dec. 21. One prisoner had originally been housed at Carson City Correctional Facility and the other at Charles Egeler Reception and Guidance Center.

Previously, the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Carson City Correctional Facility on Dec. 18.

On Dec. 17 we reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Gus Harrison Correctional Facility.

Previously, on Dec. 16, we reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Cooper Street Correctional Facility.

On Dec. 15 the deaths of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Baraga Correctional Facility and two prisoners who had both originally been housed at Carson City Correctional Facility were reported.

On Dec. 14 we reported the death of prisoner who had originally been housed at Richard A. Handlon Correctional Facility, as well as the death of a prisoner who was originally housed at Carson City Correctional Facility. The third death reported on Dec. 14 was that of a prisoner originally housed at Chippewa Correctional Facility, and the fourth was that of a prisoner originally housed at Cooper Street Correctional Facility.

The death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Chippewa Correctional Facility was reported on Dec. 9.

Prior to that, on Dec. 7, we reported the deaths were of three prisoners who had originally been housed at three seperate facilities; Cooper Street Correctional Facility, Kinross Correctional Facility, and Lakeland Correctional.

The death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Earnest C. Brooks Correctional Facility, was reported on Dec. 4.

Reported on Dec. 3 was the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Kinross Correctional Facility. Previously, the death of a prisoner originally housed at Kinross Correctional Facility was reported on Dec. 3 and the deaths of three prisoners who had also all originally been housed at Kinross Correctional Facility was reported on Dec. 1.

On Nov. 30, we reported the deaths of two prisoners who had originally been housed at Chippewa Correctional Facility and Central Michigan Correctional Facility.

Sadly, we reported the death of three prisoners, originally housed at Kinross Correctional Facility, Muskegon Correcitonal Facility, and Central Michigan Correctional Facility, on Nov. 28.

Previously in November, the department reported the death of a prisoner from Kinross Correctional Facility and the death of a prisoner from Gus Harrison Correctional Facility on Nov. 27.

On Nov. 25, the department reported the death of a prisoner from Muskegon Correctional Facility and the death of a prisoner from Richard A. Handlon Correctional Facility. Also in November, the department reported the deaths of two prisoners who had originally been housed at Muskegon Correctional Facility.

On Nov. 12, the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Richard A. Handlon Correctional Facility. The department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Muskegon Correctional Facility on Oct. 2 and Oct. 7.

On Sept. 17, the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Bellamy Creek Correctional Facility and a prisoner who had originally been housed at Muskegon Correctional Facility.

A prisoner originally housed at Muskegon Correctional Facility and passed away Sept. 12 at an area hospital, and a prisoner originally housed at Muskegon Correctional also passed away Aug. 22.

Prior to that, the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at G. Robert Cotton Correctional Facility was reported on June 2. On May 30, the department reported the deaths of four prisoners who had originally been housed at Lakeland Correctional Facility, Gus Harrison Correctional Facility, Thumb Correctional Facility and G. Robert Cotton Correctional Facility. On May 28, the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at G. Robert Cotton Correctional Facility. On May 26, the department reported the deaths of three prisoners who were originally housed at Thumb Correctional Facility. On May 19, the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Lakeland Correctional Facility and a prisoner who had been housed at Charles E. Egeler Reception and Guidance Center.

On May 18, the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Lakeland Correctional Facility and a prisoner who had originally been housed at Gus Harrison Correctional Facility. On May 12, the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Macomb Correctional Facility. On May 11, the department reported the deaths of four prisoners who had originally been housed at Charles E. Egeler Reception and Guidance Center, Lakeland Correctional Facility, Thumb Correctional Facility and Women’s Huron Valley Correctional Facility. On May 6 and 7 and 10, the department also reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Lakeland Correctional Facility. On May 5, the department reported the deaths of two prisoners who had originally been housed at Gus Harrison Correctional Facility and a prisoner who had originally been housed at Lakeland Correctional Facility. On May 4, the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally been housed at Lakeland Correctional Facility and a prisoner at G. Robert Cotton Correctional Facility. On May 3, the department reported the death of a prisoner who had originally tested positive at Parnall Correctional Facility. On April 29, the department reported the deaths of a prisoner who had been housed at Lakeland Correctional Facility and a prisoner who had been housed at Parnall Correctional Facility. On April 28, the department reported the death of a prisoner who had been housed at Macomb Correctional Facility.

On April 27, the department reported the passing of five prisoners who had been housed at Parnall Correctional Facility, Thumb Correctional Facility, Charles E. Egeler Reception and Guidance Center and Lakeland Correctional Facility. One April 26, the deaths of a prisoner at Duane Waters Health Center and a prisoner at Lakeland Correctional Facility were reported. On April 25, a prisoner at Lakeland Correctional Facility passed away. On April 24, the deaths of a prisoner at Lakeland Correctional Facility and a prisoner at Parnall Correctional Facility were reported. On April 23, the department reported the deaths of a prisoner at Lakeland Correctional Facility, Parnall Correctional Facility and Woodland Center Correctional Facility. On April 21, there were of three prisoners at Macomb Correctional Facility who passed away.

On April 18, 19 and 20 the deaths of prisoners at Lakeland Correctional Facility were also reported. On April 17, the department reported the deaths of four prisoners who had been housed at Detroit Reentry Center, Parnall Correctional Facility, Macomb Correctional Facility and Lakeland Correctional Facility. The death of a prisoner who had been housed at Charles Egeler Reception and Guidance Center and a prisoner at Lakeland Correctional Facility were reported on April 15. A prisoner who had been housed at Women’s Huron Valley Correctional Facility and had tested positive for the virus died at a local hospital April 14 due to cardiac arrest.

A prisoner who had been housed at Parnall Correctional Facility and tested positive died at a local hospital April 13. On April 11 the department reported prisoners at Charles Egeler Reception and Guidance Center C- Unit and the Duane Waters Health Center had passed away.

On April 10, the department reported the passing of prisoners at Lakeland Correctional Facility and Women’s Huron Valley Correctional Facility. The prisoner who died at WHV had not been tested at the facility and was not a close contact or a patient under investigation. After her death, the hospital tested her for COVID-19 and the positive test result came back April 10.

The passing of two prisoners from Parnall Correctional Facility was announced on April 9. A prisoner who tested positive at Lakeland Correctional Facility and was taken to the hospital for further treatment also died on April 7.

The MDOC on April 1 had its first death of a prisoner who tested positive for COVID-19. He was housed at Parnall Correctional Facility. This prisoner had not previously been tested and had never told healthcare that he was feeling sick. He was found unresponsive in his cell and was taken to the hospital, where he died. The hospital then tested him and the results came back positive for the virus.
