Leading the way for heritage projects.
As a country with a long and rich history, the UK is home to some of the world’s most interesting and architecturally stunning buildings. As well as large, landmark structures, every town and city has buildings of historical or cultural value that they wish to preserve for future generations, whether its churches, cathedrals, houses or even castles!

As a lead supplier with over 30 years’ experience, we know a thing or two about heritage projects and the special care and attention they need.
Our lead range includes machine cast lead, rolled lead as well as traditional sandcast lead. Sandcast lead is ideal for heritage projects because the process creates a lead with a fine, mottled surface, helping it to look in keeping the rest of the property.
Made in small batches, to the client’s specific requirements, it is produced by pouring molten lead onto a bed of sand. Our process incorporates the latest technology to ensure the lead supplied is of the correct thickness and proper tensile quality. In addition to sandcast lead for heritage projects, we can also supply ancillary items such as lead motifs and wooden lead tools to help achieve an authentic end result.

Of course, as you would expect from a responsible supplier we have a strong environmental commitment, in fact we only make new lead from using recycled lead! In the case of heritage projects, project teams are often keen to save and recycle as much original material as possible. Once the lead is removed from the property, we melt it once again and re-mould it, helping to create a new product that looks and feels like it belongs.
Here at Midland Lead we work with leading conservation organisations such as English Heritage and The National Trust to ensure that the work we undertake is as accurate and authentic as possible.
