Recap: FDC17 ReactJS course Apr 28

Apr 29 2017 — Yesterday was the kickoff of Fast Development Company’s FDC17 course-set for developers. The set of courses was kicked off with an introductory course of the front-end Javascript library ReactJS. The course/event was hosted by Microsoft and held in their Finland HQ. The participants of the course included students, professional developers, startup people and one programming teacher.

The event started at 10am as the participants were welcomed and shortly introduced to the premises. After the welcoming, the whole group headed to have some breakfast provided by our host Microsoft.

With our bellies full of breakfast, we kicked off the course with a short opening speech from the CEO of Fast Development Company, Mutasim Bayati. The opening speech was followed with a presentation from Microsoft’s Technical Evangelist Mark Ryan about Xamarin and Mobile Development.

After the great speech from Mark, we got into the concepts and basics of ReactJS, taught by our amazing teachers Elias and Teemu. The brief theory section was followed by the students getting hands-on with the tasks provided in the course material. Our teachers provided a helping hand whenever needed by the students.

A lunch break was much needed after the intensive React development and rapid learning. After lunch, we received tremendous speeches from Ahmed Mansour and Nithin Nadagouda from Tieto. Ahmed was talking about the differences and purposes of Angular and React. Nithin talked about the cycle of application development and the business side of IT.

The course continued with the students working on their given tasks and adding some of their own touch to the front-side of their applications. At approximately 17:30, we started finishing the course, and the students had a chance to do some networking at the Microsoft premises.

After the long and intensive day of rapid learning and react development, everyone was free to leave to enjoy their weekend and the amazing weather outside.
