The “music while working” thing is such a contentious topic. You make great points for why students might be able to handle listening to music. One issue I’ve had with students is when you can hear their music through their headphones because it’s up so loud or when you call a student’s name but they can’t hear you because of the headphones. Have you experienced either of those? If so, how have you (or would you) handled them?
