An article advocating ignorance, however selective, written by a supposedly successful entrepreneur, appearing less than a week after the former head of my country’s business association stated in wide circulation economic daily he has never read a romance in all his life, does little to dispel a lingering suspicion that we, the plebs, educated or not, are being lead by sociopaths.

The accumulation of knowledge, like that of wealth, does not warrant salvation, nor infinite bliss on earth, but has been the single most significant endeavour humans engaged in since they came out of caves not all that long ago. Personally, my greatest fear is that by not partaking in it, it will be leading us back there pretty soon…
