Removing our right to criticize religion in our politically correct society is dangerous

No one can explain with precision how we were born, how the planet was created and what path we should follow.

An arrogant mind claims to know exactly how the universe operates, how we were created, and what moral compass we should follow.A thinking mind will never dismiss any possibility.

A thinking mind will re-evaluate one’s position and adapt, a thinking mind will see the err of his or her ways and self-reflect.

A mind that is so far into dogma cannot even begin to embrace the above. If we cannot take a step back and reflect and attack the problems we face we will continue to repeat the cycle of violence we see today.

It is ok to criticize religion and we also cannot polarize the debate. Both extremes are dangerous. We cannot be complacent and ignore the struggle to separate religion from state and the human rights that came along with this separation. Failure to do this, we risk regression.

We also cannot use fear of religion as a tool to spread our own biased hatred towards individual groups.

Let’s not lose sight of this. Our ability to question organized religion and challenge ancient thought process is the reason why I am typing this today.
