Well said Scott, thank you. Housing is expensive in SF for two main reasons; it’s an awesome city to live in and there’s not enough housing. Taxing the tech industry is just plain punitive — as is griping about the busses. Tech has brought much prosperity to SF over the years and will continue to do so. I remember what Market Street 4th and 10th used to be like and what it’s like now. These changes were spurred in large part by the tech migration.
Before we even remotely consider raising taxes, especially against one particular sector, we need to focus on the vast amount of money currently being spent by city government on homelessness and urban renewal. Since whatever they are doing isn’t working, isn’t it a better idea to force change from within as opposed to pouring more money into the abyss?
