Retha Hill talks about her experiences in innovative entrepreneurial thinking, including success stories from her time at Arizona State.

Hill stressed the importance of journalist’s ability to evolve with the times.

“J-Schools and industry must work together to create new ways of storytelling and delivery for millions of Gen Y’s and Z’s who won’t get their news in traditional ways through a website,” Hill said.

While experimenting can be intimidating, Hill added, “The J-School is one of the best places to experiment, especially in conjunction with sponsoring agencies or newsrooms. We help you figure it out while creating our own jobs. Failure should not be punished. Students should not fear an experiment not working out because otherwise they might hold back and go for what is comfortable.”
