Here are some of them I hope the become very helpful to you has they have been to me:

“The more you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” ~ Dr. Seuss

Warning: reading enables lifelong learning and an insatiable thirst for knowledge. Books are a window to the world — a glimpse into to cultures past, present, and future, as interpreted by their authors and filtered through our own imaginations. You can discover an amazing amount of information about where we’ve been, where we’re going, and how things work. The more you know, the more you’ll be able to share. You’ll be a better conversationalist, a quicker thinker, a better problem solver. In any sort of creative field, these are skills that come in pretty handy.

On top of the numerous health, psychological, and creative benefits of reading books, they’re just plain fun. Try it out. 30 minutes a day, turn off everything but your brain and see how much better you feel. I bet you’ll be surprised.

“What an astonishing thing a book is. It’s a flat object made from a tree with flexible parts on which are imprinted lots of funny dark squiggles. But one glance at it and you’re inside the mind of another person, maybe somebody dead for thousands of years. Across the millennia, an author is speaking clearly and silently inside your head, directly to you. Writing is perhaps the greatest of human inventions, binding together people who never knew each other, citizens of distant epochs. Books break the shackles of time. A book is a proof that humans are capable of working magic.” ~ Carl Sagan

Try new things

Go for what you’ve always been scared of doing. Go for Bungee jumping, paragliding, surfing or that ride you are scared of the adrenaline rush can work wonders when you are having a creativity block. It is also synonymous with taking risks in your work life. Go for that novel you’ve always wanted to write or for that project you’ve always believed won’t work. Go out and take risks.

Take some time off

I always schedule at less one day off of the week especially Sunday I used the day to relax from the stress of the week, what I usually do is go for a walk, spend some quality time with my wife or something simple like sleep in. The idea is to rest the mind and body since the only things I do that day its journaling and meditation, because I even take a break from reading, I learn this from a great book “Eat that frog” in the book the author explain the science behind it, but it pretty much simple prevent burn outs.

Meet new people

“But you are the average of the five people you associate with most, so do not underestimate the effects of your pessimistic, unambitious, or disorganized friends. Tim Ferriss.

It’s funny because before I came to Starbucks to sit and write this blog post I was listening to and interview that Noah Kagan did on Tim Ferriss where they talk a little bit of everything, but the all point is that Tim got ask how we can find or meet new people and network a little bit more, He say “ it’s by changing you geography “ and I think its true, if you want to change or meet new people, maybe it’s time to move somewhere for a few days or try to visit new places like conferences, masterminds or just something simple like trying a new gym and by doing that you open yourself to new adventures that can become new ideas.

Getting together with people who can stimulate your thinking. Hang out with friends who can widen your horizon of thinking. Take up a topic, a philosophical one or one that makes you think. Discuss your ideas. Push your brain to think. Delve deeper inside your thoughts. Trust me, you’ll come up with things that’ll surprise you!

Write In a journal your ideas

Wherever you go, keep an idea journal with you. Most often, while doing odd things you come up with really good ideas but then forget them. Later, however hard you try you cannot recollect it. So always jot down your ideas as soon as you have them. At the end of the day, look at all your ideas and think about them in bed. You’ll again see these in a different light.

This works for a lot of people. Whatever your field of work is, it doesn’t matter. Just write and even if you can’t carry a notebook with you can use an app like Evernote or Google docs. Whatever that comes to your mind, jot it down. It could be about your day, a movie that you watched, a book you loved, about an incident of your childhood, anything. It boosts your creativity and imagination to a high extent.

Exercise/ play

There a such a great value in exercise or play any sport or even videos games, the way that this help to boost your imagination or creativity is because doing this you are able to disconnect your mind from work or whatever project you are working on, plus it help you to boost your awareness and you keep your mind more active.

Sleep

Probably this is the most important point of this blog post, sleeping is so important that if we lack of it can’t affect us very deeply in our life, I remember went I just to feel like superman trying to stay very late at night thinking that I was been productive and all I was doing it’s wasting my time because every time that I was trying to focus I easily lost my concentration in whatever project I was doing at that moment, the ideas were hard to come out and the same thing was happening in the mornings, I was waking up feeling very tired and demotivated that I couldn’t get much done.

That why I will recommend setting a time to sleep at night and the same in the morning, create a routine and stick with it I know at the beginning can be complicated but over time it becomes very easy to do.

Visit new places

Travelling can do wonders to boost your creativity and imagination. Sometimes your brain gets bored of the same environment that you live in. A change of surroundings is all you need. Go to a new place. Travel to a place you’ve always wanted to. See new things, meet new people, have random conversations with strangers, learn about their culture, their lifestyle and you’ll come back home refreshed!

This works for me. It might work for you. Go out for a walk. Maybe to a nearby park or a scenic place that you love. Sit on the park bench and observe. Observe the place and the people. See their body language, the way they talk, the way they look. Imagine their names, develop them into characters. Think of what you’d like to talk to them. If someone seems friendly enough, strike up a conversation. You’ll come home feeling so much better.
