This article has come at the right time for me. I’m in an unhealthy environment at work right now due to the behaviour/attitude of a superior. I can feel myself on heightened alert most days, so any little thing that comes along can lead to me feeling far more stressed than the situation would usually call for. I’m in an anxious state a lot of the time.
I recently read a book called Buddha’s Brain which talks about why our brains are hard-wired to look for dangers and how we can alter the neural connections via meditation and use more of the PFC so that we’re not reacting so much from the amygdala. Obviously this takes time!
I’ll check out the 13 ways to manage stress too as this will be helpful :)
