If in fact Birth of a Nation was not the success at the box office that it should have been, how sad…

Nate Parker’s film was phenomenal, brilliant, all inspiring, relevant and quite telling. That ANYone, especially Black folks, more especially Black women, would be instrumental in tearing it down, denying the story being told its rightful place in history, is DEEPLY disturbing.

All that I can say, is that if you have not seen the film, do yourself a favor, use your mind and see the film. You will thank me… I promise you will…

Hats off to Nate Parker for doing an OUTSTANDING job not only cinematographic-ally but also historically. Artistic liberties or not, he told so many stories about slavery in America that extended well beyond the story of Nat Turner. Why would any self loving Black person, especially Black women as is being suggested here, deny the public an education of that sort? Makes NO sense and may be just another of the reasons that I am so quick to say that I AM NOT A FEMINIST!!!

If in fact Black feminist wield this kind of influence, and I doubt that they do, I more suspect white supremacists had a bigger stake in silencing the call of this movie, SHAME on them for wasting the force of such newfound power and influence on a matter that has ZERO impact on improving or addressing what are really serious issues affecting our, the Black, community. What a waste…

Again folks, use your own damn mind, make your own damn assessment, Do yourself a favor and see the damn movie… I’m Just Suggestin’… Thank me later…
