I love worldbuilding so much that I’m going to write about it. I like sharing my insights with others and writing smart brain articles is a lot of fun. So do keep in mind that I was initially a fantasy writer who switched to fantasy-erotica writing as you delve into my article here.

Research the real world’s cultures.

You may not sit around thinking about it, but there truly are different cultures everywhere. These customs have changed over time and been adapted, some traditions and ideas over centuries. Everything from mythology to governing bodies to holidays differ between countries, tribes and decades.

The above paragraph may seem like common sense but stick with me a little further. I am going to use body modification as my basis for explaining this section from here on out. Look at how tattoos and piercings are viewed.

Henna is a traditional temporary tattoo from the Middle East whereas tattoos and piercings with certain tribes are honorary or reserved for people of high rank. I have found books recounting ancient Egypt as the start of the navel piercing and that being done solely for the Pharaoh.

In the United States how body modification is perceived depends on where you live and the cultural aspects of the area. In the northern states my snake bites and nose ring were considered “slut shrapnel” whereas in the southern states people think they’re cute and whimsical. In the northern states I have been called unprofessional because you could see a tiny bit of SFW…
