Structural racism prevails despite individually qualified candidates. This is not about the individual curator, it is about the system that keeps certain people out and other perspectives centralized. We should all be encouraged to study about histories and cultures different from our own, however we have to recognize that because of racist legacies certain people’s perspectives are given precedence over others.
