Rape is rape is rape is rape. Most communities have gone through periods of denial and protection of the rapists and child abusers. You mentioned 1 in 3 black girls before age 18, overall the number is 1 in 4 girls under age 18 and 1 in 6 boys under age 18 – these numbers are totally not acceptable but I know too well how difficult it is to speak out.

If someone breaks into your house, a defence of you were asking for it, your house is decorated like a whore and so on would be laughed out of court but when it comes to rape where a person has sexually broken into you all of those excuses are accepted. There is a fundamental disconnect here.
