So, a “lawmaker” goes to a therapist for some issue – by extension the therapist must then tell all persons in that lawmakers district why ‘he’ came to see the therapist.

Then I guess by their thinking, if a lawmaker goes to see their doctor about an STD then the doctor must inform all persons in that lawmakers district… and on and on it goes once you start breaking confidentiality rules.

“But mandated reporting exists now!” – but that is for illegal acts against a child or situations where the child’s life is at immediate risk! Talking about gender identity issues is not a situation where the child is in immediate risk. Lots of times children have issues and concerns that they are nervous or afraid of raising with their parents, having a non judgemental adult to talk to allows them to sort these issues out.
