The Disappearing Everything on Medium.com
A few things seem to have been misplaced.
Medium.com goes through changes on a regular basis. Some good. Some bad.
Lately, I’ve noticed a few things to have gone missing (more than normal).
Stories from Those I Follow
I’ve written about this before. This last week though, I’ve found maybe 1/3* of the normal amount of articles to bookmark.
*EDIT: This is my best guess based on what I normally see for ME. I don’t have actual stats to back it up, because I’m not privy to all the stats, even as a paid member of Medium.
I scroll through almost daily to those I follow, the publications I follow, and then back to the Home page to find all sorts of interesting things to read. I bookmark them and read them as I can.
Normally, I have over 80 in my Reading List at any given time.
This week, I’ve only been able to find five to ten on a daily basis to bookmark.
I’m not sure if I should be worried again or not.
Views in my Stats
Those have pretty much taken a nose dive.
I suspect it’s because I wasn’t active for about five days on Medium. I rarely take that much time off from Medium, but it couldn’t be helped.
When I did come back, I had a nice fat plump Reading List again — the highest I had it was near 200 in the last few weeks.
Potential Accrued Medium Partnership Earnings are Gone Too
Yep. You know how those possible projected earnings are posted on Wednesdays? For some reason, I have to log in on Thursdays to see what it was.
One week, from the last payout in October and my potential accrued earnings for the week = 0.00.
So either Medium is making changes again and there’s a bug, it’s working as designed (Medium changed the algorithm so my articles aren’t seen) or I really didn’t get ANY CLAPS WORTH ANYTHING FOR A WHOLE WEEK.
I suppose it’s possible.
I have a feeling more changes are a foot.
As for the “missing stories”, you know I can’t always go into every single person I follow’s profile and check there for new stories.
I don’t know what the solution is.
I’m only publishing this here first instead of on my website first, because if I’m right, it won’t really be seen anyway.
