Clintons earned over $4 million from financial industry speeches

After Politico released a summary of speeches Hillary and Bill Clinton made in 2014 and 2015, Bombs and Dollars analyzed the speeches by industry and found that the Clintons earned the most from the financial and insurance industry, raking in $4.5 million over the two years. Overall, they earned $25 million, averaging over $200,000 per speech.

Nine of those companies also lobbied the State Department during Clinton’s tenure and donated to her organization, the Clinton Foundation. The two leading industries after finance and insurance were mass media and healthcare and pharma.
