Scoreboard

If the 2016 Primaries are a sport’s scoreboard, we’re at the two minute warning before the end of the first half. On the Democratic side, to a Bernie Sanders’ supporter, the score feels like 10-3 and there’s a full second half to go. For a Hillary Clinton support, the score feels more like 100-30, and the game feels over. Both sides worry that they’ll have to face Alabama (that is, Trump) in the finals, and he’s leading 28-16 and threatening to score even more.

The “championships” feels like it’s either going to be a 28–27 game or a 40–7 kind of game. It could be close or it could be a blowup. “Vegas” is thinking it’s going to be a Trump victory.

A lot can change, I grant you. But boy, it sure feels like the anger of the republican voters will bring Trump to office. (Granted, John Oliver might have really changed things.) I hope the Canadian government’s websites will better withstand the throngs of people considering leaving.
