Fair comments, but the focus of the article is not so much on the improvements of non-truckers as the immediate and devastating impact on the truckers as their jobs cease to exist and they have to fall upon minimum wage jobs in fields they have no experience and training for, and even these other jobs will disappear before long as technological advancement reduces the labor requirements across all industries. The new jobs being created in the new, mostly information sectors are nowhere as numerous. Even if truckers can make this transition, which they can’t, there will never be enough jobs to take them all.
