AT&T, Carnival & Samsung Launch Virtual Reality Cruise Vacation Experience in Local NYC Stores

For most New Yorkers, the sights and sounds of tropical breezes and beaches are out of reach during the peak of winter — but starting today through March 11th, AT&T is providing customers with a tropical cruise experience right here in New York, using the latest in Virtual Technology. As part of a collaboration with Samsung and Carnival Cruises, customers can participate in a fully immersive virtual reality cruise experience and enter to win one of 10 seven-day cruises on Carnival Corporation’s Holland America Line, Princess Cruises and Carnival Cruise Line brands.

AT&T will be welcoming customers into four participating New York City stores spanning Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Bronx. New Yorkers should swing by one of these stores to get a chance to transport themselves to a Carnival Cruise for a few minutes and forget cold weather:

  • Manhattan, 250 West 57th Street, New York, NY
  • Manhattan, 2540 Broadway, New York, NY
  • Bronx, 2882C Third Avenue, New York, NY
  • Brooklyn, 494 Gateway Drive, Brooklyn, NY

Store visitors can walk up to the Samsung Gear VR demo, put on the headset, and be surrounded by the sights and sounds of a warm and sunny cruise vacation. The virtual reality content is first-of-its-kind and exclusively developed by Carnival Corporation and its 10 global cruise line brands. Built to work with Samsung’s Galaxy S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+ and Note5, the Gear VR headset lets people enjoy an ever-growing library of premium and entertaining games, apps, photos and videos.
