Content Marketing
The benefits of content marketing are that it increases brand visibility and improves brand awareness.
Two places that require a marketer’s attentions are: On-Page SEO and Off-Page SEO.
On-Page SEO is all about your website. Optimizing Page Titles, Site Description, Images and Headings (H1 and so on). Fill out your website with informative content and, bonus tip: set up a Q & A page for Voice Search Optimization.
Off-Page SEO is everything outside of your website. Social Media Profiles. Listings on Business Directories. Google My Business Profile. Forums. Blogging ==> Create — Optimize — Engage!
Videos
Our last article touched on the continued dominance of Video.
Sprout Social posted a statistic that showed that “more than a billion people are active on YouTube and 500 million people watch Facebook videos every day.”
Create videos and post and pin them at the top of your Facebook and Twitter profile pages. Create YouTube and IGTV channels and fill them up with quality content.
Keep in mind: in 2019, video will represent over 80 percent of all Internet traffic, and for the U.S. alone it will be over 85 percent (source: Inc.com). This will continue into 2020.
Social Engagement
Participate on forums and offer insight to topics related to your field or industry. Websites like Quora are a great way to engage with many users and build brand credibility by answering questions.
Commenting on YouTube videos, and leaving comments on Instagram posts, will create awareness of your brand and help build a following on your platform.
The Mobile Experience
Smartphones and tablets have overtaken desktop browsing traffic. Marketers have to market to the mobile user.
Mobile-Friendly: Your website has to be responsive and must load fast, as Google takes into account page speed for mobile search rankings.
SEO: Voice Search (we’ve covered this here) and Local SEO — optimize your Google My Business listing and post updates.
Video Content: In case you forgot, or don’t want to scroll back up, create standard videos on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram; vertical videos on IGTV.
