Why Miles Davis Was The Ultimate Product Leader
Trevor McLeod

Wow, what a fantastic article.

In this context, it gave me even more appreciation for Miles. I didn’t realize how much he affected other aspects of my life. So much more than just entertainment value.

I have always been struck how much the other musicians he lead loved and respected Miles, even while many critics and industry people didn’t like him. That willingness to think outside the box creatively, doesn’t always win fans unfortunately.

I’ll never forget the first time I heard the album Bitches Brew, it was about 6 months after hearing Kind of Blue for the first time; I was awe struck to say the least.

Miles changed music 4 or 5 times in his career, and each time bolder and more challenging than the next.

This article gives me a deeper understanding of how he did it. Thanks.
