ModulTrade visit to Africa — meeting with the Ambassador of Russia

After successful signing the agreements with logistics and financial service companies on Wednesday ModulTrade CEO Evgeny Kaplin visited the residence of the Ambassador of Russia in Cote d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso Vladimir Baikov.

On Wednesday two important agreements were signed with leading logistics company SIMAT and main player in financial services in Côte d’Ivoire, SERFIN (representative of Western Union in Côte d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso).

Based on the forming consortium the pilot transaction for July — August is planed. The deal will be related to the export of agricultural products from Cote d’Ivoire.

During the meeting with Russian Ambassador the potential for ModulTrade in development the African trade were discussed. The Ambassador shared his view and gave his wised recommendations based on the deep understanding of local culture and market.

It was discussed that only ~15% of the population have bank accounts while access to smartphones and cell phones have ~70%.
