Employee Provident Fund to get 8.6 percent interest rate in FY 2016–17.

More than 4 crore EPFO (employees provident fund organization) subscribers are expected to receive a lower rate of interest of 8.6 percent on the Provident Fund deposits for the present fiscal year. This is because the Labour Ministry is determined to rope in the Finance Ministry for slashing the interest rates of EPFO subscribers.
