Following the last MonkeyNuts week, this MonkeyTrain powers forward as we enter our IDO week. We begin this exciting week by continuing our Partner Spotlight Series on Ascensive Assets. We sat down with the Ascensive team to ask them a few questions. Here’s the recap:
So, who is Ascensive Assets?
Based in Seoul, South Korea, Ascensive Assets is a private investment firm focused solely on digital assets. Known as a top player in the crypto space, they specialize in high growth, game-changing projects, no pun intended.
Tell us about Ascensive Assets, the firm’s origin story, and how long you’ve been in the crypto space.
Behind the scenes, Ascensive has been in the space since 2016 before transitioning into a full team structure in 2019. Interestingly, it was our team’s shared poker background that brought us together.
Aside from MonkeyBall, of course, what have been your top investments and/or projects you’re most proud of?
Outside of MonkeyBall, our best investments to date have been Yield Guild Games, the biggest gaming guild in the world, and Frax Finance, founders of the tractional stablecoin and crypto’s first native CPI. We support world-class teams with game-changing projects.
What motivated Ascensive to invest in and support MonkeyBall?
After our initial call with the team, we realized fairly quickly that this was a serious and solid team that we would be able to work well with them and bounce ideas off each other regularly. The crypto industry evolves at warp speed, and one thing we hate is to be an inactive ticket. With MonkeyBall, we knew we could collectively respond to whatever the landscape threw our way. In addition, we look at projects for the long term and MonkeyBall’s long-term play is something we quickly got behind.
What is Ascensive’s prediction for the future of Play-to-Earn?
The industry’s momentum is extraordinary and cool new concepts are continually emerging to accelerate the growth of P2E. In our view, the possibilities are endless. We believe the model will end up becoming the standard, as users and consumers will view it as a normal addition on an unconscious level.
