Cummings’ Greatest Hits

The Montclair Times finally admitted what we all already know in their article this week. David Cummings is not reported on by that paper because his wife is an executive there. Convenient? We thought we would run a greatest hits of all the things that have not been reported on by the Times since he began to serve on the Board. Here we go:

  1. David Cummings’ Collaboration With Michelle Fine’s Attacks May Represent Multiple Violations of New Jersey’s School Board Ethics Code
  2. Cummings’ Collaboration: Records Show that Behind the Scenes, David Cummings Plotted Attacks on District with Michelle Fine/MCAS
  3. Mayor’s Board Appointees Not Showing “Financial Acuity” He Promised

You get the idea. This past Monday in his pity show he again violated State Ethics regulations. If you didn’t review link #2 above, let us share the appropriate items from 18A:12–24.1 Code of Ethics for School Board Members. Item c. states, “I will confine my board action to policy making, planning, and appraisal, and I will help to frame policies and plans only after the board has consulted those who will be affected by them.” Furthermore, item e. applies, “I will recognize that authority rests with the board of education and will make no personal promises nor take any private action that may compromise the board.

Cummings’ use of his position to defend himself and attack the previous administration, of which he was a part, is in clear violation of each of the rules he swore to uphold.

Mr. Cummings should do as he said in the video and “step down from his position on the Board.”
