The solution starts within. For us to catch ourselves when we are telling an emotion: You should not be here, you are not legitimate. That will dissolve the thickest coat keeping us away from freedom: self-shaming

Hello Jessica,

I read a lot about emotions, because I was passing through an experience where I couldn’t understand mine at some points. I even refused to accept them and deal with them. As you mentioned they lead me to self-shame, and other annoying emotions.

What helped me most were two things:

  1. We are not our emotions or our thoughts. They just pass by and we have to watch them.
  2. Feel your emotions fully and do not supress them.

The confusing thing is that some of these emotions emerge without a clear reason. We have to dig deeply to find out where they came from.
