June 3rd: Non-Photo Blue — Pinback

I’m on mobile, so I’ll be brief for this one. I’m not really a pinback fan, but for some reason this song really stuck. For me, it’s all about the bridge: a toned down version of the main riff with a perfectly placed piano lick and some new vocal lines.

Non-photo blue is an interesting concept for a song, too. If you don’t know what it is (I didn’t either), it’s a particular shade of blue that wasn’t detected by graphics art camera film, allowing for notes or other markings to be written, but not included in the final product.
