Miami and Baltimore Set Up an Interesting Thursday Night Football Match Up
Week 8 of the NFL season will kick off with two AFC franchises battling it out. Miami (4–2) has won their last three after starting the season 1–2, while the Ravens (3–4) are looking to get back into the win column. Heading into this contest, Baltimore is currently riding a two-game losing streak, after starting the season 3–2.
Both teams are within striking distance of their respective division leaders. Miami is tied with Buffalo for 2nd place in the AFC East, and one game behind division-leading New England. Baltimore sits 2nd in the AFC North, trailing Pittsburgh by two-games. The Steelers are the only team in the AFC North with a record above .500
Miami will be without QB Jay Cutler for this matchup, as Cutler is currently sidelined with cracked ribs. Matt Moore, who took over for Cutler last week in the second half, will make his first start of the season in Cutler’s absence. NFL.com ranks Miami’s offense at the bottom of the leaderboards, coming in at 32nd. The Dolphins currently average 15.3 points-per-game and average 261.8 yards per game. Kenny Stills leads the Dolphins with 4 touchdown receptions and Jarvis Landry leads the team with 365 yards.
