It seems as if you are missing the point. Because you put so much effort into it, I am of the opinion that your efforts to “gloss over” the facts are intentional.

  1. The movie refers to the rapid increase of incarcerated black people. You use statistics referring to incarceration of ALL people without regard to race.
  2. In one instance, you quote what seems to be a reliable source. In the next you use the phrases “about”, “something like”, and “maybe”. Why, after putting so much effort into this, would you guess?
  3. Some of your stats chart prison population from 1920 to 2014. others from 1980 to 2014, and then others from 2000 to 2014. Where is the consistency required to draw accurate conclusions?
  4. Who in their right mind would attempt to reference Wikipedia as a reliable source?

I might take you seriously next time if you stated clear and concise facts from reputable sources in regard to the rise in incarceration rates of black people, especially black males.
