The Highs and Lows of Writing
Andrew Carter

The desire/compulsion to write is a puzzler, Andrew. I’ve had some success, but the disappointments and frustrations often feel like they outweigh the thrills and joys. But then you’ll get an email from a faraway stranger, and it’s enough to keep you pushing that boulder up the hill. Those misgivings and doubts you have are something you share with most creative folks; we tend to vibrate at a higher frequency than ordinary people, so the small things feel bigger to us. Keep challenging yourself and always look for ways to push in new directions. You just may stumble across a vein that pays off. Oh, and don’t forget to focus on enjoying the journey, not the potential payoff of an imagined destination. Keep typing. Keep dreaming. Keep going.
