More Bad News About Facebook
they keep changing the format…and not for the better

As an independent author, I was using Facebook as a platform to launch new books. I joined over 600 Facebook groups to market my books. Methodically, every few days, I would post in 20 or 30 groups.
Great way to market a book — right? Not any longer. Facebook has decided to change it’s format, in a big way. Now groups are NOT in a list form. They’re laid out in a fashion that is incredibly cumbersome to use. So, I haven’t been using them at all lately.
There are many other features they’ve either taken away or changed for the worse. I do not know who makes these decisions, but whoever it is — they’re doing a terrible job.
Another pet peeve of mine: if I post in more than twenty groups, I will be locked out from utilizing my Facebook account. What’s an author to do?
Utilize Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, and — of course — Medium. There are new social media platforms being developed as I type this. Facebook will soon be one of those things we will laugh about — like playing Pong on the original Nintendo.
I think that might happen sooner rather than later. Companies, like Facebook, who do nothing but piss off their customers don’t usually survive for very long.

But then, I don’t even think Facebook knows they’re this horrible, because they don’t answer my questions or appeals for help. They live in a bubble thinking they’ll be kind of the social media world forever.
