Banana Split Smoothie

I don’t know about you but even the words banana split takes me back. They were the decadent dessert in our home growing up. Fresh strawberries at their peek, perfectly ripe bananas, neapolitan ice cream, hot fudge, caramel, whip cream nuts and cherries. That was my my favorite combo. I was not big on the fruit jam toppings but how I loved my fresh strawberries. I will never grow out of my love for banana splits, I just try not to have dessert that often. Dessert for me was a harder habit to break then junk fast food and soda.

I know a smoothie won’t taste just like hot fudge and whipped cream but a girl can have fantasies.

Banana Split Smoothie for 2
2 frozen bananas
1 cup of frozen strawberries
2 cups of fresh spinach leaves
1/8 cup each of dark cocoa powder, chia, hemp hearts
1 tbsp of maca powder
1 tbsp bee pollen
4 large ice cubes
1 plus cup your choice of milk

Blend, pour ENJOY!

Going Vegan take out the bee pollen.
I’m not a huge fan of smoothie bowls BUT
This makes an awesome smoothie bowl as well.
Add 1–2 extra ice cubes to the mix, pour in a bowl. Then top with fresh sliced strawberries, bananas, blueberries and sliced almonds.
