How to make intention for tawaf during Umrah?
Umrah consist of four main parts first is ihram, second tawaf-ul-Umrah, third Sa’i of Safa and Marwah and the last one is Halq or Taqsir. Here I will provide you with the whole procedure of making intention for tawaf-ul-Umrah. Next time when you will book your cheap Umrah package, you will not be confused about this matter.
Ihram
Ihram Clothing
Ihram garment consists of plain two white sheets for men. One layer that will cover the upper part of your body is known as Rida. The other one which will cover the lower part of your body is known as Izar. Keep in mind that your right shoulder should be naked after wearing ihram.
The Izar should not cover the heel and ankle of your feet and must be above it. You can’t wear any socks and underwear with ihram. You can’t wear any headwear. Ensure that you put your ihram before entering the boundaries of Miqat.
Ihram for women is their usual clothing. But it should ensure that it should expose themselves during Umrah performance. So it is advised to wear a simple abaya of white or black colour. Women can’t cover their face and hands in the holy Kaabar. Although they can wear socks.
Physical Purity
Before getting change your clothes into ihram, you must ensure that you are physically neat and clean. If you do need a bath from any of reasons you take a ghusl (cleaning shower) before assuming ihram. It is also advised to cut your nails, remove hairs from your armpits and private parts, trimming hairs of your beard and head.
Men can also apply Ittar (non-alcoholic perfumes) to their body, not to ihram. This all should be done before you leave for Umrah from your home. If you can’t take a bath doing Wudhu is acceptable.
Salah al-ihram
It is sunnah of our Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) to perform two Rakats of prayer as an intention for ihram. You can offer this prayer at the airport, or you can also offer it in during the flight. You can offer the prayer with the intention of two rakats nafl for ihram.
It is also the sunnah of our Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) to recite Surah al-Kafirun in the first unit of prayer and Surah al-Ikhlas in the second unit of prayer after reciting Surah al-Fatihah. Don’t forget to make dua after this prayer from God.
Intention (Niyyah)
It is recommended to make intention verbally, as well as you make it internally.you should make the intention for tawaf only for Allah. You should also ask for the acceptance of your Umrah from Allah. Following is intention which can be offered in Arabic to make intention for tawaf.
“O Allah, I plan to perform the Tawaf of Umrah of the Kaaba for your sake and your purpose alone. Please accept it from me and make it simple for me”.
Which is following in Arabic:
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أُرِيْدُ طَوَافَ بَيْتِكَ الْحَرَامِ فَيَسِّرْهُ لِيْ وَتَقَبَّلْهُ مِنِّيْ
Allāhumma innī urīdu l-ṭawwafa baytika l-ḥarāmi fa yassirhu lī wa taqabbalhu minnī.
So next time when you are going to perform Umrah or hajj you should recite this dua to make an intention for tawaf. When you will book your cheap Hajj package, don’t get in the hassle of making intention for tawaf in hajj. It will be the same for both Hajj and Umrah.
