Premier League Preview: Arsenal v Sunderland
Arsenal take on relegated Sunderland tonight with their top-4 ambitions hanging by a thread.
The Gunners have seen a recent upturn in form having won their last 3 EPL games but are still unlikely to sneak into the Champions League spots.
Sunderland meanwhile, have had an abject campaign under the increasingly haunted-looking David Moyes. The fans are revolting against the manager, particularly after yet another wretched performance at the weekend against Swansea.
Arsenal are sweating over the fitness of Alexis Sanchez after he picked up an innocuous looking thigh injury during the 4–1 victory at Stoke on Saturday, whilst Laurent Koscielny is also doubtful.
Victor Anichebe and Jason Denayer have been ruled out for Sunderland, but they were unlikely to have much of an impact on tonight’s match at the Emirates.
The betting markets inevitably favour the home side with the Gunners as currently short as 1.1 to seal the win tonight.
Of more interest is the Asian Handicap line; given Arsenal’s recent form combined with goal difference perhaps proving pivotal in the race for the top four, the current price of Arsenal -2.5 at 1.851 certainly marks some appeal.
