Born Tishia LeaAnn Johnson, she discovered her love for music in the church, when at the tender age of 8 she sang her first solo to acclaim. Ms. Free’ simply has her own style and flavor.
Free’ has that infectious vibe and atmosphere. You can immerse yourself in her music and just relax and let go while being enlightened to what she is expressing through her intimate thoughts. Free’ owns a strong vocal instrument and her honey molasses voice will coat all your senses.
Free’ recently joined up with rapper and music executive, Katrell The Phenomenal, in a smoothly explosive collaboration on the track “Darlin”. The beat production is done by DoomGotBeats, while the Recording & Engineering was executed by Emmy Award Winner, Ted Etheridge, at Music Box Studio, in North Carolina.
“Darlin” is smooth, and symbolizes the beauty of love. Here you have the passion and melodrama of a romantic adventure as told from both sides, as Katrell The Phenomenal brings his confident and comfortable flow to the table.
This is the kind of music where you sit back and sip on a nice glass of wine, and just let the music take you away. Prior to this single, I felt that the state of music, especially R&B/hip-hop, was so abysmal that I had hesitated to purchase new works of this blend of music for several years. Now finally, R&B/hip-hop that was intelligent and adult and deviated from the standard of juvenile, was in my media player with “Darlin”.
