Lee Brown, Small Town To Global

Lee grew up in a small town in Indiana and spent lots of time between Detroit Michigan and Chicago Illinois. He started to get into the music industry around 8 years old when he received his first guitar with the help of his parents.
He quickly started his guitar lessons which eventually caught the eye of Joe Shireman and Zach Nagy (guitar Tech for Joan Jett) who is originally from Lafayette, Indiana. After many guitar lessons with the team at the local music store, Lee quickly became friends with some local musicians in the area.
Lee was on the edge of starting a band, but really did not know what to do and how to start a band. Lee joined a talent show at the local high school playing the guitar. After the talent show and trying to find the right people for a band, Lee would go on and meet one of his brothers, high school friends, and drummer for the local school; Josh Ball.
Something was missing, they needed a singer and so they brought in a childhood friend to sing. From there, Lee eventually went on to meet the bass player whom he always calls an older brother; Patrick Anderson.

After a few years of performing around the state of Indiana and Michigan, Lee eventually would leave the band after some discussion with Patrick Anderson. From there, Lee decided to turn to some family members who were in the music industry and since Lee really grew up on rap music, he knew just who to turn to!
Lee has always had a passion for rap music, but would face the hardships of getting into that genre of music as an artist. Lee eventually recorded a three track demo and a family member since the demo to Jimmy Zimardi from East Coast Music Talent, Lee eventually signed a deal for artist development with East Coast Music Talent from South Carolina.
Lee was very dedicated to making a career out of hip hop, but Jimmy Zimardi needed some more music to go off of. Lee was able to find some help from his parents in creating a home recording studio, where he could record everyday. Lee spent countless number of hours learning to produce his own music, which he continues to produce majority of his own music to this day!

Eventually East Coast Music released Lee of his contract after a few years which they claimed they brought him as far as they could. Lee once again turned to family for some guidance since at this time Lee had already made a name for himself through the development deal. A good family friend would end up shopping Lee’s demo on his behalf to different connections within the industry.
The demo would eventually land in the hands of Prisa Music Group. After sometime with Prisa Music group, Lee felt like something was missing. Lee had a long discussion with them about the future of his music career. Lee and Prisa decided it was best to mutually part ways since Prisa was more geared to handle talents who were just getting started, while Lee had already built a good buzz around himself and had a core fan base even before signing with them.
Once again, Lee felt kind of stuck on what to do. One day out nowhere, Lee received a phone call from a huge record label known as Interscope Records which and gave Lee some finances to be able to put out the album “UN-Cut UN-Produced” and which would land Lee collaborating with other musicians such as E-40. The label decided to sign Lee to a subsidiary label known as Magik City Records for a two album deal.
After some time with the record label, Lee would eventually part ways due to personal reasons and this ended up leaving Lee Brown independent with another label mate who most people know now named Kevin Gates. Lee eventually got his masters back from the label and decided to stay independent with some help of another independent record label; Midwest Hell Melodies.

Lee would once again focus on releasing a new album which eventually became the album known as “Dirty” produced by Matchbox Twenties’ Kyle Cook who is originally from the same area as Lee Brown. During the recording process, Lee would receive a phone call that his former bass player from his high school band had passed away.
This really took a toll on Lee and he would go on to dedicate the album to him. Although extremely heart broken from the loss, Lee never let it stop him, as he continued to go on and finish the album. Over the last few years, Lee has released five studio albums and fourteen singles.
Lee has also been featured in three TV commercials and two Major Motion Picture films. This day forward Lee focuses on continuing to make music daily and spending time with his two children. Lee is currently working on a brand new album with a credential producer which should be out later this year.
Lee still spends time between his home in Indiana and his second home in Chicago. Even with Lee Browns recent neck surgery, it sure hasn’t stopped him from jumping in the booth to finish the new album! Lee has been working with a top notch talent who is both an artist and producer in order to finish the album.
As Lee always says “The music industry is all about who you know”. Right now his team is currently looking at a release date of the new album, which they aim to be around Mid September, but we all know how Lee works. He says Mid September, but don’t be surprised if the new album isn’t released sooner!
Lee Brown has recently been working on a brand new album featuring artist such as Jadakiss, KM Da 3RD, Justin Adams and many more which has different eyes within the community keeping a close eye on him. Lee Brown has been recently featured on multiple TV podcast and most famously for “Down With Us” by C-Note.
