Hello everyone my readers! In this article, I will show you very quickly and without water, how to use a bridge or how to transfer test ETH from Goerli network to zkSync Era Goerli network (testnet) to interact with an ecosystem that already has quite a few projects!

Let’s start with the fact that there are several ways to get test ETH in the zkSync network, but I decided to tell you about the most convenient and fastest.

If you have 0 ETH in your wallet in Goerli network, you can use this faucet, all you have to do is register via google mail (it takes a few seconds) and then you can request 0.2 ETH every day.

And let’s add a zkSync Era Goerli network at once:

Open Metamask>click add network>add the network manually and then enter the data below:

Network Name:
zkSync alpha testnet (zkSync Era Goerli)

Network URL:
https://zksync2-testnet.zksync.dev

Chain ID:
280

Currency symbol:
ETH

Block Explorer URL:
https://goerli.explorer.zksync.io

Once we have a test ETH in the Goerli network, we go to the zkSync bridge and click on “Bridge” on the left:

Also, make sure you have “zkSync Era Goerli” at the bottom right (screenshot 2):

Then everything is intuitive, enter the amount and transfer it to the test network zkSync and confirm in MetaMask. If you need to withdraw, then click on the “Withdraw” button at the top:

The average time to complete a transaction is about ~5 minutes (based on my personal experience):

That’s all, after a few minutes of simple actions we can already interact with the ecosystem and test projects that are built on zkSync.

Many testnet users stop at this point, making only 1–2 transactions in the entire testnet period. I highly discourage you from doing this, so I plan to release a series of in-depth guides about testnet projects on zkSync, which can be found on “Notion”, so you and I can dive into the zkSync ecosystem and learn about their ecosystem!
