Custom Snapchat Geofilter

Custom Snapchat Geofilters

Geofilters are the coolest thing to hit social media since the hashtag. If you don’t know what a geofilter is, that’s totally fine, but you may want to find out what it is before your parents start using them.

A geofilter is basically a filter within Snapchat that is tailored to your location. So say for example you’re in downtown Atlanta using Snapchat and you snap a picture of the Coco-Cola building. Atlanta probably has a filter or two for you to use on that photo, but now users are able to submit their own filters. That means that not only can you use a sweet Atlanta filter, but if Coca-Cola is hip to it, you could probably use a filter that they designed themselves on your picture.

So what does this mean and why would my parents be interested in it? Well let’s just look at it like this: Who are these custom geofilters for?

1) Small Businesses and Personalities

This may seem pretty trivial to some, but this is a HUGE opportunity for small businesses and even a person like an author or speaker to get in front of people. While you can’t put a logo or a website on the filter, there’s real potential to provide users with valuable content that they will share. (P.S. there are ways around not being able to put your logo or website on the filter. You can always put your username without an “@” symbol so people know how to find you.)

2) People Putting on Events (WEDDINGS, GRADUATIONS, BIRTHDAYS, ETC..)

With a custom geofilter purchased over your wedding venue you’d be able to have your friends take pictures and videos and use your very own filter for the special day. These filters could have little cartoons of you and your spouse, wedding cakes with your names on it, or even a colorful “skyline” of the venue to accentuate each picture. The possibilities are endless. If you have a teenage kid (or are a teenage kid) a birthday filter for Snapchat would be a way to make your party way better than the brat down the street’s last shindig.

3) YOU

While these filters are ideal for telling people about what’s going on, they can also be used as a way to express your artistic side as a designer, to impress your friends, or even ask someone out on a date (prom-posal anyone?). Whatever the need, it can be done!

If you’re not a designer or don’t know how to get in contact with one, feel free to e-mail us at — we have designers that would love to work with you to design custom snapchat geofilters. But if you are a designer or have access to one, let us know when your filter is being used! We’d love to see how you’re using custom filters!

Thanks for reading and have a nice day!
