Demons, Conspiracy Theories, Celebrities? Sign me up.

Yesterday I was casually scrolling through TikTok, when my sister sent me a random conspiracy from a page about music theories and jokingly messaged “I am not saying we should sell our souls but I am not saying we shouldn’t either. For context…we are working on a really awesome art project right now and need funding, sooo that’s where that comes from. My ears immediately perked up because I love Rihanna and they were breaking down why they thought she sold her soul to this demonic entity, Rain Man.

If you don’t like conspiracy theories or demonic content you may want to sit this one out. Because we are going down the rabbit hole. Do I believe in this? no. But am I fascinated. absolutely.

From my extensive research, Eminem, Rihanna, and Jay Z were at the forefront of this conspiracy. Below are a few examples of the artists that have referenced this mysterious Mr. Rain Man.

Artists Lyrics Referring To Rain Man

According to http://thedailyconspiracy.weebly.com/rain-man.html

Jay Z –He’s not a sane man, he’s more like the Rain Man twitchin’
Jay Z — They call me rain man

The Doors- You know the rain man’s comin’ ta town

Bob Dylan — Now the rainman gave me two cures
Bob Dylan –And the rain man leaves in the wolfman’s disguise

T.I.- Call me the rain man from the place where they gang bang

W.A.S.P. — Rain man on fire from the hells of Hades

Nas — You know what though, I love the rain man

The Game — We make it rain like Rainman, when he play with the glove,

Tanya Tucker — She said you call yourself the Rainman

Mims — Just like Rain Man

Black Stone Cherry — Have you seen the rain man

Savage — Raise that rain man without question

Del the Funkee Homosapien — try to play me like the rain man”

So what’s the folklore here and why does he keep showing up in songs? These are the answers I have sought out to answer.

The Folklore

I couldn’t find much but according to the Villains Wiki fandom page,

the Rain Man is a powerful demon who makes deals with those who aspire to make it big in the industry. In exchange for their soul.

Let’s break it down. Rain to its root can also be referring to, according to villain wiki fandom) as “one who receives abundant blessings from above.” If we consider rain being good for crops and food needs and such this makes sense.

Now, the word “umbrella” is apparently also synonymous with the Rain Man since the word is derived from the Latin word “shadow” or under the influence of “Umbra”. Who the hell is Umbra? A quick search tells me “the spirit or ghost of a dead person, residing in the underworld” and wikipedia tells me: it is the innermost and darkest part of a shadow. I promise this will come together.

Many cite the usage of the word in H. P. Lovecraft’s book Necronomicon in which an umbra is one of the globes of Yog-Sothoth, a cosmic entity and Outer God. This is a sci-fi by the way. In the Necronomicon, it states that Yog-Sothoth could bestow great riches on whoever bestows onto him a woman.

What does this all have to do with the music industry, I have no idea, so I need to do some more digging. Some say that Rain Man is the devil himself, but many believers say that the Rain Man is connected to Baphomet, a demonic entity from occult folklore, and others argue the Rain Man is a different being entirely whilst representing a higher power. It appears that Mr. Rain Man genuinely likes human fame for some reason?

Rihanna

(again everything is from villain wiki fandom)

So Rihanna’s song Umbrella has a couple perspectives in the conspiracy world. One, that she is expressing her devotion to the Rain Man in the song. Second, that the premise of the music video is that a woman is violated by a demon, and gives birth to six demonic children.

Rain Man enters into the music video when Jay Z sings “rain man is back with little miss sunshine, Rihanna where you at?” Rihanna responds by singing “you’ve had my heart, and we will never be worlds apart, you’re apart of my entity, here for infinity.” As such, the song debatably converts from a love song to Rihanna swearing her allegiance to a fallen angel. The theories also believe that there are references to the Number of the Beast in the music video.

Rain Man allegedly enters into the music video through Rihanna’s body. Rihanna’s body supposedly contorts into a visual representation of a goat-like beast within a triangular prison — looks a little more like Yoda to me, but hey what do I know.

Conclusion: What Makes Him Pure Evil? And My Two Cents

  • Made deals with present day successful artists in the music industry in order for them to attain success and money, only to torture them psychologically later.
  • Rihanna’s song “Umbrella”, music video is actually about a woman is violated by a demon, and gives birth to six demonic children, implying that the entity may have raped Rihanna in real life as well?
  • He forces the artists who made deals with him to put hidden subliminal messages about him in the lyrics of their songs and/or music videos. Seems to have quite the ego.

Folklore has been around since the dawn of day and it’s actually historian’s best records for peasants or anyone not rich back and the day. It always represents societal norms and fears. I wonder what this says about us?
