A Mother’s Unyielding Love: The Search for Raymond Green Jr.
The unthinkable happens when a stranger befriends a teenager at the hospital and does the unthinkable
At Grady Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, 16-year-old Donna Green gave birth to her second child, Raymond Green Jr., on November 1, 1978, when she was 16 years old.
In addition to her boyfriend at the time, Raymond Green, Donna and Raymonda had a daughter together named Raymonda who had been born only a year prior to Donna and Raymond.
Several hours later, Donna went to the nursery to see Raymond, and she met a woman who introduced herself as Lisa Morris as she approached her.
Lisa told Donna that her younger sister had just given birth to a baby and pointed at the newborn and said the child was her niece. She then asked Donna which baby was hers, and Donna pointed towards Raymond Jr.
It was Donna who invited Lisa into her room, where they continued their conversation. They got to know each other and became friends as a result.
There was no doubt that Donna thought that Lisa had befriended the teenager solely for one reason. It turned out that Lisa was in fact doing so in order to steal Donna’s newborn.
