Feeling powerless in the face of another’s unsolvable suffering can lead us to turn away but…
Lucy Mayhew

Wow. Tears in my eyes, a lump in my throat, and … utterly … no words.

I look at this incredibly powerful piece as the Gold Standard for how to remain present for somebody who is suffering.

The Silver would be the old “It’s okay if you can’t help me. Just … don’t hurt me.”

But what happens when they don’t even believe you’re suffering … and they’re deeply broken people ?

Please share Lucinda’s story.

Please share mine, too. Mine underscores just how important Lucinda’s really is.
