Wow. Tears in my eyes, a lump in my throat, and … utterly … no words.

I look at this incredibly powerful piece as the Gold Standard for how to remain present for somebody who is suffering.

The Silver would be the old “It’s okay if you can’t help me. Just … don’t hurt me.”

But what happens when they don’t even believe you’re suffering … and they’re deeply broken people ?
