“People don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care.”

That statement is the core of what we do. We aren’t able to share the Gospel effectively until we provide for a family’s physical needs; this has led us to start New Clothes 4 God’s Kids. We receive new clothes, either donated by manufacturers or bought at a deep discount, and attach a Gospel tract, “More to Life”, before giving each item to the Salvation Army for distribution.

Through these efforts, we’re able to act as the middle man between clothing manufacturers and those that don’t have the financial resources to purchase clothing themselves.

Caring for the Physical

Our goal is to show the invisible — children living in poverty without a way out — that there are people that care about them. We care about both their physical and spiritual needs.

According to Columbia University’s National Center for Poverty, over 16 million children in the U.S. are living in poverty. This means they’re living in hand-me-downs and many don’t have a place to sleep. These new clothes not only help their self-esteem, but also shows them that they are loved.

By first providing for their physical needs, we’re then able to share the Gospel with them and their families. Our ultimate goal is to share that there is a God who loves them and desperately wants them to have a relationship with Him.

Why Salvation Army?

The Salvation Army has a proven history of assisting people in need around the world, which means their knowledge, experience, contacts, and ability to distribute our goods means we’re getting the maximum reach possible.

Caring for the Spiritual

We distribute age-appropriate tracts, which means the Gospel is presented in a way both children and adults can understand. In “The Light”, children learn about Jesus through illustrations. In “More to Life”, adults learn who God is and what salvation means. We’ve partnered with CRU (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ) to distribute these resources, so that anyone has the opportunity to learn more about God.

We have also provided information for both StartingwithGod.com and EveryStudent.com, both resources for growing deeper in faith and getting questions answered. We don’t want to just deliver the clothes and the tracts, we want those that receive these packages to begin to grow a relationship with Christ and have somewhere to turn for more help.
