Forest Introduces the NFT Creation Feature, Craft Your Own Web3 Collectibles Now
The Forest team is excited to share that you can now effortlessly bid for SEEDs and acquire the ones you prefer. Additionally, you have the ability to use any SEED in your possession to create NFT collections, and subsequently NFT items.
These exciting new features, in conjunction with Symbol Market, empower every aelf user to create their own tokens and Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) by acquiring unique SEEDs, whether through purchase or bidding.
If you are new to SEEDs and their roles in token/NFT creation on aelf, please read this introduction first.
Bidding for SEEDs with Popular Symbols
SEED is the credential that allows users to create tokens or NFT collections on the aelf network. SEEDs can be categorised into three main types: common SEEDs, SEEDs with popular symbols, and SEEDs with notable symbols.
Among them, SEEDs with popular symbols can be obtained through Forest via auctions. Upon acquiring a SEED that supports NFT creation, you can use it to create an NFT collection on Forest and proceed to craft individual NFTs within that collection.
For your convenience, the guide below focuses solely on the acquisition process for SEEDs with popular symbols.

- SEEDs with notable symbols are exclusively reserved for the project team of the token. If you represent such a project, please contact the Symbol Market team on Telegram for further discussion.
1 . When you enter Forest, scroll down to the second section, where SEEDs with popular symbols are featured. If you come across one that captures your interest, click on it to view its details.
If you do not like any of the showcased SEEDs, click “View More” to explore Symbol Market, where all SEEDs are on display.
In Symbol Market, you have the flexibility to choose the type of assets you wish to create, whether it’s tokens or NFT collections. Next, search for the symbol of your choice (in the example below, we used NFT SEED and a popular symbol).
2 . If the SEED has already been created and is currently in an auction, you can participate in the ongoing auction by placing your bid.
If the SEED has not been created yet, click “Create SEED” to initiate its creation on the blockchain, no charges will be incurred for this.
Upon successful creation, swiftly navigate to Forest to “Place a Bid.”
3 . The auction period spans 14 days and when it ends, the highest bidder wins the SEED, so don’t forget to periodically check the auction to avoid missing out!
Creating NFT Collections
Forest allows SEED owners to create NFT collections. Prior to NFT collection creation, make sure you have obtained a SEED with the symbol you like.
- If your SEED is for token creation, you’ll need to visit Symbol Market to create tokens. A detailed tutorial is available here.
1 . Click “Create” — “Create a Collection” on Forest.
2 . On the “Create a Collection” page, you can customise the NFT collection by uploading a logo and featured image, picking a name, selecting the symbol, and more. In the “Symbol” dropdown menu, you can view all the NFT SEEDs you own and choose the one you want to use. Once you’re satisfied, click “Create” at the bottom.
3 . Confirm the creation in the next window and the transaction will be completed after a short while.
Once the collection is created, you can continue to create NFT items in the collection!
Creating NFT Items
NFT items are individual NFTs that can only be crafted within a collection. Prior to NFT creation, make sure you have created a collection.
1 . Click “Create” — “Create an Item” on Forest.
2 . On the “Create New Item” page, you can upload the file you wish to transform into an NFT, such as a picture, music, or video. In the “Collection” dropdown menu, you can view all your collections and select the desired collection where you want to generate the NFT items. You can also customise a token ID and specify the quantity of items that can be created. Once you’re satisfied, click “Create” at the bottom.
3 . Confirm the creation in the next window and the transaction will be completed after a short while.
